Dear Friends,

You did it! You helped make this success possible.

Last night, you and I - WE - began to demand more - of our communities, of our leaders, and of ourselves. Together we've fought a long hard campaign - but it's not over yet!

As the state budget implodes our social infrastructure, as the 2010 census re-shapes the electorate, and as
theTea-Baggers descend like locusts to feed on the fears and harden the hearts of Americans - we can take no vote, no view, no voice for granted: that is what it means to Demand More.

The vision of this campaign is captured in that motto, and explains why I got in this race, why we won last night, and why we will win in Sacramento.  (to see the final election results, click here:

I see this state and this district as rich in resources, in diversity, in un-tapped talent and hope.

Our communities need to be nurtured, not neglected.
Our vulnerable need to be protected, not discarded.
Our children need to be taught more than tested, and guided rather than given up on.

This has not been and will never be a campaign of fat-cats and "special interests". Instead, it was because of your generosity that we are here today. You phone banked and precinct-walked. You made buttons, and designed websites and graphics. You donated supplies, time, money and much more. You have shown what a grassroots effort can initiate; now let's show what it can accomplish.

Thank you. This has been your campaign as much as mine. I thank you for your investment in me, as a democratic candidate for the 47th State Assembly District - and for your investment in yourself - for investing in the kind of community, district and state that you want to leave for your children and for the future.

November, here we come!

Sincerely,

Holly J. Mitchell
Candidate for the 47th Assembly District
