<h3>Before serving on the first&nbsp;all&nbsp; women-led Board of Supervisors in the history of LA County, Holly served for a decade in the California Legislature, representing the 54th&nbsp;Assembly District and 30th&nbsp;Senate District, both in Los Angeles County.</h3>

During her tenure she helped author and pass over 90 bills – including the landmark anti-hair discrimination law, The CROWN Act, making California the first in the nation to pass the law ending hair discrimination.
Holly became the first African American to serve as Chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee. Under her guidance, she helped the State of California successfully build its financial reserves with the passage of three consecutive state budgets–each totaling over $200 billion.
Early in her career, Holly had transformative leadership opportunities serving as a CORO Foundation Fellow, a legislative advocate for Californians experiencing poverty at the Western Center on Law and Poverty and working for pioneering legislative leaders like the Honorable Diane Watson.

<h3>Before running for public office, Holly led Crystal Stairs for seven years, California’s largest nonprofit dedicated to child and family development.</h3>
As CEO, she fought for low-income families across Los Angeles County to gain access to childcare and poverty prevention resources.

The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday asked for a comprehensive report on the dangerous pastime, which grew in popularity during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The county also plans to hold a public forum to address the most effective tactics to deter participants and spectators, and to look at options that have not worked in the past.
